All my pieces are designed and made with durability and longevity in mind. It's not just good looks. However, like all jewellery or handmade items, there are some steps you can take to ensure your piece stays in the best possible condition.
Store flat or hanging.
Avoid chemicals and high heat.
Beads can break with force.
Avoid direct sunlight.
Pieces may kink if stored incorrectly - particularly the fringes. Kinks will work their way out eventually. You can gently massage the beads to help smooth them.
These earrings are hardy but like any jewellery, take them off for swimming in chlorine or saltwater, and before finishing up your look with a blow-dryer or hairspray.
The beads are made of glass, with enough force they can break, especially if crushed. Most breakages, while sad, will not impact the stability of the piece unless it is the very last bead on a fringe. If you are concerned about a broken bead, please contact me.
I use Miyuki beads which are the highest quality glass beads from Japan. I also avoid beads that have a coating that can fade or erode. I still recommend storing your beads away from direct sunlight as with all colours, over time, they may fade. Please do wear your jewellery outside on sunny days - especially the sparkly ones!
